ABOUT PUPPET HOUSE

“Puppet House” is a practicing center for both Theatre and Puppetry. Founded in 1996 by Theatre Practioners Dr. Prakash Garud and Smt. Rajani Garud. Puppet House producing dramas and puppet plays from past 25 years. It has nearly 50 plays and 15 puppet plays to its credit. It regularly conducts theater and puppetry workshops for children and young artists in Dharwad and other parts of the state. It is also a practising center for art education program for teachers and children. The core group of Puppet House is trained in theater basically. Puppet house undertook a collaborating art project with the financial support of India Foundation for the Arts, Bangalore. In which developed leather puppetry for contemporary audiences particularly for children. Undertook art education project for primary school children supported by Sir Ratan Tata Trust, Mumbai. Participated in puppetry festivals and training programs organized by Sangeeta Nataka Academy, New Delhi. Center Culture Department, New Delhi has supported regularly for its theatre and puppetry endeavors.
